Brieven van kunstenaars

On 11th March 2018 a ‘guerilla action’ called SMAKHACK has been held, in which 44 young artists claimed a spot in SMAK to show their art there. In a manner of speaking, they hacked the museum with the aim to allow young artists to be seen and heard.

In this action, we designed a book in which these 44 artists each wrote a letter to Phillipe Van Cauteren in which they demand a place in the museum. This letter is called ‘Brieven van Kunstenaars’. Like the guerilla action, we hacked the book ‘Brieven naar kunstenaars’ from Phillipe Van Cauteren.
