We designed the book for the 50th anniversary of Frans Masereel Center. A book with 460 pages full of rich history about art, the center and the culture that lives in belgium. In collaboration with Studio.dier.
With this publication, the Frans Masereel Center in Kasterlee celebrates its fiftieth anniversary. Since its statutory establishment in 1972, the Center, named after the Belgian graphic artist, woodcarver, painter, draughtsman and pacifist Frans Masereel, has become one of the most challenging and inspiring environments for artists and curators to explore graphics and printed matter-at-large.
The publication shifts forward an art history conceived not as a sophisticated enumeration of highlights and moments of glory, but as a sequence of overlapping facts and events, a condensed string of actions and decisions.
